Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State

This sponsorship in collaboration with the Oregon Schools Activities Association—aka OSAA—recognizes outstanding achievement in the classroom. The boys and girls team in each OSAA-sanctioned activity with the highest team grade point average (GPA) earns the Academic All-State Award.

Each member of a winning team receives a coveted “got milk?” sweatshirt, a commemorative pin and a certificate. The school receives a plaque in honor of its winning team.

Members of top ten schools in each activity at each classification are also recognized with a commemorative pin.

Oregon State University Football

Our local dairy industry has longstanding ties with the Animal Sciences program at Oregon State University. Accordingly, we are proud to sponsor OSU Football, along with its state-of-art weight training facility—the OSU Sports Performance Center. Dairy Farmers of Oregon radio commercials air on game day broadcasts for all Beaver football games, as well as on supporting radio programming. We’ve also provided grant funds to the Sports Performance Center to assist with the purchase of flavored milk for Beaver athletes.

MLS Portland Timbers Soccer

The Dairy Farmers of Oregon is among a handful of inaugural sponsors of the Portland Timbers as an official Major League Soccer team, which is the highest level of soccer in America. With some 60,000 youth in the Portland metro area actively participating in soccer, this sponsorship lets us support the sport that earned Portland the title of “Soccer City, USA.” Importantly, the Dairy Farmers of Oregon is the presenting sponsor of the Portland Timbers Kid Camps and Clinics.

Portland Winterhawks

The Portland Winterhawks hockey team competes in the Western Hockey League and plays their homes games in the Memorial Coliseum and the Rose Garden. The Dairy Farmers of Oregon supplies the team with chocolate milk as a sports recovery beverage consumed at the completion of each home game and several practice sessions. The team’s head trainer recognizes the restorative and rehydration value of chocolate milk for the professional athletes under his supervision.
